The Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica said a Podgorica resident identified as N.A. has been detained because of a risk that he might flee.
Detention was ordered after he was questioned. Prosecutors said he was arrested last night. Police searched a vehicle and an apartment he uses under an order from an investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica, issued at the prosecution’s proposal.
During the search, officers found and seized about 550 grams of marijuana. Part of it was hidden in a stuffed toy. The rest was split among 28 smaller PVC packages prepared for street sale and two larger bundles. Packaging materials, two precision scales, a mobile phone and 4,505 euros were also seized. Prosecutors suspect the money came from drug sales.
On the evidence gathered so far, prosecutors said there is a reasonable suspicion that N.A. obtained the drugs in the municipality of Tuzi and then distributed and sold them to end users in Podgorica, using electronic communication apps to arrange the sales.
