Officers of the Podgorica Security Department arrested N.A., 29, after finding drugs and a larger sum of money. The detention was ordered by a state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica.
Acting on operational information, police asked an investigating judge at the Higher Court in Podgorica for a search warrant. With the warrant, they searched the apartment and other rooms he uses. In one room they found several packages totalling 50 grams of marijuana, a box with a smaller quantity of MDMA tablets, and 4,505 euros that officers suspect was obtained by putting narcotics into circulation.
A search of the yard uncovered a backpack holding two packages of marijuana weighing 260 grams, two precision scales and items used to pack drugs. In the Nissan he uses, police found a stuffed toy containing 28 further packages, 240 grams of marijuana in all.
The Police Directorate said the marijuana taken from N.A. weighs 550 grams in total. Officers also seized the MDMA tablets, the packing and weighing items and the 4,505 euros. The Nissan and his means of communication were temporarily seized.
N.A. was arrested on suspicion of unauthorised production, possession and placing of narcotics on the market. With a criminal complaint, he is to be brought before the competent state prosecutor within the legal deadline. Police said they will continue work against drug crimes and misdemeanours, with emphasis on street sales and distribution.
